I decided to pay a visit to my local country park yesterday and immediately thought it a mistake. Sunday isn't ideal for hoping to photograph wildlife as it gets a bit crowded. People letting their dogs jump in the lake scaring the water fowl. Kids on bikes doing what kids do, so I decided to get off the beaten track and it wasn't long before I was presented with a opportunity as i spotted a wren flitting to and fro just yards from me. Even with a 100mm-400mm zoom i knew I needed to be closer, I managed 3 shots but knew they were not up to scratch. So disappointed I slowly made my way back to the car. There at the entrance into the park and probably it's busiest point is a small bridge crossing a stream so I decided to have a look at the water. What a surprise lay in store for me as to my delight I spotted another small wren emerging out of the undergrowth on the opposite bank and flying to the opposite one but to my dismay out of sight. Now in the middle of the stream a twig lay sticking straight up and the wren made my day by settling on it for a second or two and I got my shot. To say I was chuffed to bits is a understatement.

Dear Snaphappy
What a stunning picture! The detail is amazing right down to what looks like a tiny insect on the stick.
They are such speedy, feisty little birds so it's a real joy to be able to sit and look at your picture and marvel at
the wonders of nature and your skill.
