Taken at Dungeness RSPB on Monday. Caught sight of this Red-legged partridge just as we were leaving. Watching it run across the stones at the end the day was a great way to leave.
I know how much you love photos....
Hi Robert
LOL! just as well I had my glasses on as I thought you taken a photo of gravel - whether he meant it or not, this partridge is well camouflaged against the backdrop of the stones. Thanks for posting.

Is that bird for real??!! It looks like something out of a 'Painting by Numbers' set.
It's pretty cool though and I love the setting - very dramatic.
Thanks for posting

Yes, we do like photos and that's a good one. Such colourful birds aren't they. He looks as though he's heading for his evening dip in the sea.

Love your picture, and he matches the gravel background very well. The red legs are very apparent, and gives the birds species away.
I came back form my holidays last Friday and I came across a couple of Red Legged Partridges while on holiday in Menorca, Have you hear their call - it sounds really odd like a rasping, scraping noise from a blocked up nose (or beak in this case)
Dave and I thought we where seeing a Pheasant at first but it was all wrong - the shape of the bird I mean!
Still a beautiful bird indeed

What an amazing bird. Whoever said we only get little brown birds and bigger black ones in the UK? They were quite wrong. This is a splendid specimen. Thanks for the photo. Beautiful.
Cheers, Linda.

Cool, not often seeing the legs! Brilliant
For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.
