Pair of Bullfinches

We live on the west coast of Scotland in the Highlands, and today I saw a male and female bullfinch in our garden. We have lived here over 25 years and this is our first sighting. I wondered if anyone knew if they are common this far north?.

    Hello Poppy and welcom to the forum. I am further up in Caithness. Where about are you? I have not seen them with us, but that is not to say that they are around in Caithness somewhere. Hope you enjoy being on here.

    I positively identified an adult male bullfinch 20 minutes ago in our garden. It was with other birds which also moved in the same way but I couldn't be sure they were also bullfinches. The birds were in our mature Swedish Whitebeam which is frequented by many different birds all year through. We live in Westfield, Caithness.
