RIght then - after a bit of discussion it seems 23rd September would be a good date for quite a few of us so let's go with that date! Hope as many of you can come as possible. We can sort out the finer details - times etc later. It woud be great if you could add your name to the list if you can come. So far, definites are:

Actually no, it's from Tony Duckett's own Blog, Regent's Park Birds. He took all the photos.

I will text him nearer the time to ask if there's anything of note that you should look out for.
Unicum arbustum haud alit duos erithacos
(One bush does not shelter two Robins)
Zenodotus (3rd Century B.C.)
Wow - as Clare said - that is quite some map and really kind of you to offer to ask him nearer the time what is about.
And as Clare also said - aren't you able to come?!
Much as I would love to join you all, we are not allowed time off during September, first month of the academic year and all that. I am sure you will all have a fine old time!
No doubt we will all be doing reports about it afterwards and will tell you all about it.
It looks like being a cracking visit pity I am not up to travelling that much yet, just had to call off a visit to Saltholme because of that and that is less than an hour away, stii cannot complain as we have plenty of stuff locally to keep me out of mischief thanks to Mrs S !!

Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can
I'm sure Tony's Ornamental Waterfowl Collection will cause some head scratching!
Just to subtly promote this thread I can now say I have my train ticket and I'm ready to go!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Thanks for the reminder, Clare. I must get my ticket although I don't think I get much discount by booking early.

The ticket prices seem to have gone up - a cheap day return from Ipswich to London including tube travel now costs £44.
Hi Clare - I've got my train ticket too - it cost me £45 cos I didn't get booked all that early. Just booked another trip to London in November to go to a concert and got a return ticket for £20!! Anyway - I'm going to enjoy our day out and look forward to meeting all those that are going. Must get round to swapping phone numbers before too long!
