What a lovely day to escape the house and head for Felixstowe Ferry with camera in hand! I did stop at Gulpher Pond on the way:
I thought these mallards looked particularly lovely with the light on the water.
This fishing boat looked very neat and ship-shape.
To say that this herring gull looked uncomfortable is the year's understatement.
Is it contortionism or the Dance of Seven Veils?
So what do you think you're looking at?
I think this is a redshank.
It's certainly a lovely little bird.
These lapwings were happily pottering about as well.
A few black-headed gulls.
A perfect day for fishing!
A young herring gull in flight.
I love watching gulls fly!
I love watching them chilling out as well - these two really show how lovely and sunny it was today.
I hope you all enjoy these.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Lovely set of photos Clare-gives a real feel of the sea!Your Gull does seem to have a rather long neck! You're right on the Redshank-I see a lot of them on the estuary- they're lovely little birds to watch.

The Mallards are my favourites there, although the last pair of chillaxing Gulls does run them close.

Love the gulls soaking up the sun - look s like a Spring photo!
Always love to see the gulls. Lovely in-flight pics.
Lovely set of photos Clare. It's always nice to see the sea. I also love watching Gulls fly. They make it look so easy.

I'm with you there C, think it's so relaxing & amazing watching Gulls in flight! Twice a week I have a seven mile drive on my way to Byron's school which incorporates the sea road & esplanade .. I call it my Gull run, & see many wonderful sights, especially when it's windy & they just seem to float in the air .. great stuff!!

Lovely photos Clare - living inland, it's always nice to see pictures of the sea! That herring gull looks as though he's swallowed something a bit too big and is struggling to get it down his throat!!
