  • Wow!  What a beauty!  A fantastic shot and thanks for sharing it :o)

I've very seen one of these magnificent birds in the wild, just at Warwick Castle - and she looked pathetically small next to a Sea Eagle, lol!

  • What a fantastic shot.  Such as beatiful bird of prey.

  • Thanks for all the nice coments, really appreciate it:) btw Paul I know what you mean, I took this pic this morning of an immature Golden eagle with a peregrine....dwarfed!!!!!

  • Look at the size difference there!  Its like putting a Wren next to a Woodpigeon!

It may be an awful pic to you but I like it :o)  I'm actually quite jealous!

  • Still a great picture.  the only things that size flying over me are on the way into heathrow or seagulls

  • I like this shot best as it's more like my photos!! It does show the size difference really well. I have never actually spotted either bird.

Me too! (but replace "quite" with "extremely".....)

The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.

The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!

I had a brilliant close encounter with a female Peregrine Falcon a week or two back, managed a few shots, and here's one of the better ones for anyone who is interested :)

    Hi Jimbob

Thank you for sharing that Peregrine with us. I'm envious all over again.

When we went to our local wildlife reserve last Saturday, I said to OH 'see if you can spot any raptors to photograph' and he looked at me quizically and said 'what - dinosaurs?'. So I put him straight....

    Best wishes Chris

    Lol Squirrel!!

Brilliant shot Jimbob! I guess the peregrine makes up for lack of size in its speed and manoeuvrability around a golden eagle!!

  • Must have been thinking of the Veloceraptors in Jurassic park Chris!

Thanks again to everyone who contributed to this post, much appreciated!
