Blue tit on branch by Andy Bright (http://digiscopingukbirds.homestead.com/)

Yes, it's finally here!

This weekend you can be part of the world's biggest birdwatch - Big Garden Birdwatch.

Anyone can take part. Just spend one hour counting the birds in your local park or garden, then let us know.

Loads of you have already told us you're taking part, which is great to hear. Thanks guys, and have fun this weekend.

  • I am afraid I am not happy with either the website nor the process for the bird survey (which I made know on the form).  ALL birds should be included in the survey and not just common birds.  How on earth can an organisation analyse data unless it get and recognises the full range rather than partial.   And the survey is over 2 days???  Saturday and Sunday???  Why not design the site to take account of this???  And the site has broken links ;-(  And the site erases entries from the scarcer box if one back keys to check the previous page.  On the whole, in my humble opinion, given that the exercise seems more directed to getting more members for the RSPB than surveying and assessing the full range of bird populations across the nation I am saddened and it has a negative effect on my wanting to join such a charitable organisation.  Sorry :-(((
