Warden team update:

This month the Weymouth volunteer groups that meet on Monday and Thursday have been focussing on winter cutbacks on the paths at Radipole and Lodmoor. On Monday this week, the team worked at Radipole, clearing overgrowth from the large viewing screen in the north of the reserve down toward the Discovery Loop. Yesterday, the team were making progress clearing the main path to the west of Lodmoor, which was extremely busy with visitors hoping to see a Red-backed Shrike that has recently been sighted.

Discovery Centre Café update, written by one of the SWRAC students

The students who help run the café do all sorts of jobs such as taking orders and serving customers, cleaning the area inside the café, operating the coffee machine as well as making time to do their coursework. The students sell a variety of products including a range of different teas and coffees, various cakes, cold drinks, chocolate bars, scones, toasted tea cakes, ice creams and much more. They also help the RSPB with pond dipping and backpack hire and selling duck food. One of the students even put together a bird table for the café terrace!
