Will Scott, our most recent in an illustrious line of long-term voluntary wardens, has migrated north to take up a position on The Farne Isles overseeing their famed seabird colonies - a marriage made in heaven one imagines, with the bird mad lad as happy as a gannet in guano.
Of the five individuals to have completed our long-term volunteering scheme in Weymouth; Andrew Taylor, Will Haywood, Rosie Woodger, Stephen Kershaw and Will, four are now working full time in conservation - which is pleasing as we provide training and qualifications and aim to make the experience vocational. Rosie is the sole 'graduate' not working in the sector but in her defence she is a full time mother!
Anyone who got to know Will during his 5 month's here and wishes to keep abreast of his island antics, (moths likely to feature strongly aside the birds) he has started this blog: http://dub-birder.blogspot.com/
Good luck Will and many thanks for your months of toil.
