This October has been a pleasant introduction to autumn. With temperatures still mild, many visitors have been enjoying Radipole Lake and Lodmoor reserves.

The warden team have been busy cutting back the vegetation along the paths at Radipole Lake, particularly along the Discovery Loop, which has opened the paths up nicely after a whole summer of growth. At Lodmoor, many will have seen the cattle which are back grazing the reed which aids with the conservation management of the wetland.

October saw the last two of the Bearded Tit guided walks, the weather was a little windy, but great views of these birds none the less. Half term at Radipole Lake was a particularly busy time for both the café and the events team. Pumpkin carving was a major hit with families and we saw a wonderful array of carved designs. Take a look at this witch's cat - amazing!
