lt's a rainy day down here at Radipole Lake but lots of Teal, Mallard, Tufted Duck and Grey Herons making the most of the wet weather. Also Snipe, Black Tailed Godwits, Gadwall, a Kingfisher and a large of flock of over 75 Mediterranean Gulls are about.

In recent weeks, Radipole Lake Volunteer Pete Clinch, has been setting up his trail camera at different places around the reserve. This camera can take pictures day and night and a sensor triggers the shutter if anything moves in front of the lens. Here are some of the images that Pete's camera has captured.

The fabulous otter with its blazing eyes, below, was captured in the early hours of Friday 21st October by the bridge on the path to the North Hide.

Pete also put his trail camera on the new scrape near North Hide, to see what was about. The night image shows that the Snipe are active even at one o'clock in the morning.

The image below is a daytime shot of Mallard and Teal.

The cameras will be moved to different places in the coming weeks so expect further updates and tasters of what's to come when the new trail is opening during winter 2016/17.
