We’ve previously blogged about our rather feminine lookingmale Marsh Harrier but a picture taken today by regular visitor Steve Careyproves that his femininity is restricted only to his plumage. Marsh Harrieractivity has been difficulty to keep track off this spring due to the comingsand goings of several different females. We’ve definitely had three differentfemales and possibly even a fourth but looks like our man has finally settledon this one.
Water levels have now levelled out at Radipole after therecent flooding so the Marsh Harriers and lots of other birds can now get onwith their spring activities though hopefully a little more discreetly than ourHarriers.
We’ll let you know how things progress over the next fewweeks.
Great photo!! Thanks for an excellent early morning meeting on Saturday as well folks! Our first time out there and it won't be the last!
Bye for now
Mike
Was it Chris that loaned Steve his camera to capture the moment luke... And your last comment does little indeed to deflect my bird voyeurism accusations! Great picture Steve and quick on the draw...
Great shot,
Dont be affraid to trying something new.
The Arc was built by amateurs, the Titanic by professionals.
Certainly is a great shot. Glad Chris was quick with his camera as the moment doesn't really last long with Marsh Harriers...
When you said he has '..finally settled on this one' I didn't realise you meant it literally!
Great shot of a momentous occasion.
Seize the day!
