Beautiful calm and sunny day down here at Radipole Lake today. The sky and lake are a deep blue while the reedbeds are golden with the sunshine filtering through them. The Marsh Harriers have been displaying in the skies overhead, three were seen all together at one point. Many visitors have been coming in the Discovery Centre reporting their sightings of the Marsh Harriers.

Bearded Tits have also been in abundance today. Walking around the reserve this morning I saw a row of visitors with telescopes and cameras. There were Marsh Harriers in the sky and Bearded Tits and Reed Buntings in the reedbeds in front.

Large numbers of Teal also gathered in front of the Discovery Centre, as well as Tufted Ducks, a Shoveler, our Hooded Merganser and a Little Egret.  A very friendly Robin was posing photogenically in the hedgerow nearby enabling delighted visitors to get close up shots.
