At the start of yesterdays ‘Discover Radipole Lake’ walk, I perhaps rather foolishly asked everyone if there was something in particular anyone really wanted to see. Names such as Bearded Tit, Bittern, Kingfisher were all mentioned and I thought to myself, "Oh no... have I accidentally raised everyone’s expectations?" It was going to be tough to achieve even half the things mentioned. So what happened? Well, after a two hour walk around the reserve we saw a total of fourteen or so Bearded Tit, seconds after them a Bittern flew over, and after a stopping off to look at the Wasp Spiders we enjoyed first class views of Kingfisher from the North Hide! I wish every walk I lead was as productive! The next ‘Discover Radipole Lake’ walk is on Sunday 15th Sept, starting at 10am from the Discovery Centre. No need to book and its free!
Yes it was a brilliant walk thanks Luke, am still talking about it - will post a poor photo eventually :-)
That was a really good walk round you did, might join the next one! And welcome back to the blogspot, keep 'em comming.
Seize the day!
