Wading Bird

Hi,

 

I was walking along the costal path in the reserve when I managed to capture this image

Of a Whimbrel? (I thought it's beak was too short for a Curlew)

 

Is this correct?

    seems no-one was here to answer your question so sorry for the delay but yes this is a Whimbrel, they are regular spring migrants through the wetlands with quite good numbers (20+) on some days. May is the peak time. Nice photo by the way. Hope you continue to enjoy the site.
