Over a decade after the first videoblog hit the internet, the Wild Coast Project has just begun what we hope will be a series of films to record history in the making.  Over the coming months, and years, we'll be recording the various stages of development of Europe's largest environmental conservation project. Perhaps we are in competition for the longest running video blog!
In June, our long awaited and much discussed construction begins. The temporary jetty and unloading facility will be constructed before the return of the overwintering ducks and geese, so as not to disturb their normal roosting and feeding.  If you are a regular walker along the North seawall, you'll be able to watch this construction where  a conveyor belt will come ashore at the site of the web cam mast.  Public access along the wall will continue throughout the construction process, so you can check out the developments as they happen.
If you have never been to Wallasea, in the words of a recent travel advert, "where the hell are you?"  I hope this little film will give you a taster of our wonderful island and encourage you to come along and see for yourself.  Oh, and if the accompanying music reminds you, like me, of duelling banjos and a certain film, its ok the locals are very friendly!!
