A big thank you to all the volunteers who came along to Tudeley woods to lend a hand at the reserve's first work party outing. It was Claire's first time in charge of a work party but she did a wonderful job leading the group in a day of scrub clearance in Yew Tree Field. The field is due to be cut over winter as a means of controlling the birch that's encroaching, but first, all the large trees and bushes need to be removed by hand. Anyone who is interested in joining our great band of volunteers should contact me on 07872 157743 or thomas.pinches@rspb.org.uk.
