It was decided that the overgrown patch of hazel, birch and bramble that sits in the middle of the Tudeley Woods Carpark was due for a change. While valuable in its own right as potential nesting habitat, shelter and a food source, within a woodland setting, its benefit is be negligible. So instead the plan is to turn it into a little wildflower meadow to attract bees, butterflies, hoverflies, and other fluttering and buzzing beasties. Although the original plan for the day was to continue with the scrub clearance at Yew Tree Farm, due to a low turn out – only me, Claire and Gabrielle – it was agreed that we could make a start clearing the shrubbery.

We even managed to get some scrub clearance done in the afternoon so thanks to Claire and Gabrielle for such a productive day. And watch the (newly made) space to see how it progresses once the stumps have been removed and some wildflower seeds have been sewn.
