Prepare for a plot twist – because, well, things in the marsh rarely stick to the script!

After our recent update: https://community.rspb.org.uk/placestovisit/titchwellmarsh/b/titchwellmarsh-blog/posts/pipe-dreams-at-titchwell we’ve had some head scratching, and a generous sprinkle of contractor wizardry, which has led to flipping the programme on its head, all thanks to a delay with steelwork needed for the outfall structure.

Instead of jumping straight into repairing the outfall pipes, we're kicking off the modification work in the freshwater marsh first.

The outfall has been partially demolished, blocked off and pumps are working overtime. The fantastic amphibious excavators are carefully negotiating their way around the pitfalls of the freshwater marsh and already the bunded carrier ditch along the south side of the east compartment has been created.

Don't worry – the outfall pipes are still very much on our to-do list! This shift just means we're tackling things in a slightly different order.

Keep an eye out for updates as we navigate through this modified plan. The marsh's story continues!

All the best,
