Despite the overcast conditions spring arrivals keep coming.

Cuckoo was seen today but didn't give it's characterstic 'cuckoo' call. The reed warblers that it favours to raise it's young are not yet here but are due any day soon.

Fifteen to twenty swallows were using the new seabank as a substitute telephone wire, looking exhausted after their notherly migration. Other spring arrivals on the reserve included singing lesser whitethroat in the car park, upto seven yellow wagtails east of Fen hide and a little ringed plover on the Brackish marsh.
