We have been sent some great images recently. One lucky person (apologies that we don't have a name to credit- they came via a third party) went over the reserve in a hot air balloon and sent the aerial images of the reserve and house.
Then regular visitor Trevor Hensley saw these amazing long- horned moths here at the weekend and managed to get the stunning picture below. Thank you Trevor!
We are still awaiting the first cuckoo and hobby to be reported on the reserve, but garden warblers have now arrived. One was singing just along the drive from the gatehouse and another on the old heath yesterday. A stoat has been charging around the car -park and Gatehouse areas in recent days.
Looks like a short burst of winter then back to mild conditions for the weekend, so more of our migrants should be here soon!
