It seems our hobbys have finally left for their long journey back to sub-tropical Africa. They were seen on Saturday, but since then we've had no more sightings, so let's hope they get back to their wintering quarters safely and we have hobbys back again next year.
The lorries you may see along the buzzard trail are bringing back the waste spoil from the continuing boundary works and viewing and invertebrate mounds are being created with the soil on the edge of the new heath, which will be great for both wildlife and people!

The weather is looking good for our Discovery Day on Sunday, when the bird ringing team will be holding demonstrations and explaining what important information and data they gain about the movement and changes to bird populations of birds from doing this work.
