It's been good insect-watching weather this week, inbetween the showers.
The buddleia bushes at the front of the old house have been attracting plenty of bees, hoverflies and butterflies, including several magnificent painted ladies.
And at the old swimming pool - once the largest in the country! - dragonflies have been doing their thing. Here, a female emperor is laying eggs into the water (also called 'ovipositing'). What a beast!
If you've seen something good, please let us know!
I always think that dragonflies look like some sort of terrible dinosaur/helicopter bio-contraption. Undeniably beautiful, but alway a bit scary looking.
