Sunday 4 December 12:15 Bus from Sandy (12 :30 start at The Lodge) Lantern walk leaves RSPB to Sandy approx 13:15,
As part of the Friends of Sandy Christmas Lights Switch On event, we are holding a walk with festive songs at RSPB The Lodge to kick off the day, and then join the switch on event as Santa arrives in town.
Bring your lanterns and meet for a lift in the Talk of the Town community bus at 12:15 in Sandy main town centre car park to drive to the nearby RSPB reserve. Arrive in your own vehicle or by foot if preferred.
After warming up with some mulled wine and a mince pie (£2), Cords Contemporary Choir will be getting us in the Christmas spirit with seasonal songs and carols outside the Gatehouse.
While you are here, pop into the RSPB shop to get your decorations, candles, crackers, Christmas gifts and cards. Light snacks, sandwiches, teas and coffees for sale.
We’ll then leave at approx 13:15 to walk back to the town through the reserve to join the main festival and Christmas light’s switch-on, led by Santa’s helper with our lanterns aloft.
Please supply your own lanterns. There is the option to bus back to town. Please note; Limited numbers on the Community bus.
