The hobby's are certainly keeping our visitors (and volunteers!) entertained with comings and goings and action around the nest site area. There are regular battles with buzzards and ravens encroaching on their patch, and although it's not  the best quality, the pictures by Ray Piercy below show some of the action with the buzzard and you can just spot the fluffy white chicks in the nest! The chicks are getting larger throughout this and seem to be doing well in the nest.

Here are the next few hobby watch dates with approximate times. Please note we will not run this viewing in rain or bad weather conditions.

Fri 28 July      11:00  - 1

Sat 29 July     10:30 - 2

Sun 30 July     1 - 4

Mon 31 July  10:30- 1

We estimate the chicks will fledge sometime around 8 August, so next week is the last chance to come and see them on the nest- although they will still be busy showing the chicks how to hunt over the heath for a few more weeks, before they then head back to Africa.
