Well....what a day !

Around 1,200 visitors flocked to the Lodge on Sunday 15th, to visit the first ever Christmas Fayre held here.

A great team of staff and vols turned up very early in the morning, to put up the marquee's and help in running the day. Thanks to them all.

Paul Forecast and vols Dougie and Mike had a difficult task organizing the traffic, at one time the top car park was completely full, we had cars parked along the side of the drive right down to the bend where the bridleway goes off and then lots more in the HQ car park .

We transforned the gazebo into Santa's Grotto and Peter and Amanda dressed up as Father Christmas and his helper Elf, (they looked great !) handing out pressies to a queue of eager kids.

Biggleswade Choral Society and Gamlingay Village Choir sang carols throughout the day and Barry the gardener did a star turn, singing and entertaining the crowds.

At the end of the day, our shop had done a roaring trade, Dawn Cox had sold all of her excellent soup and food , the tombola and raffle had gone down a storm and the stall holders all seemed to be happy to have been involved.

More importantly, we saw a lot of visitors and children, who from their comments, appeared to have really enjoyed the day.

Let's hope they all come back again to enjoy the reserve on a quieter day .
