After a busy, but very cold weekend, we are waiting to see what we'll be getting weather wise this week with the 'beast from the east' in the news.. ..
It's been very bright today, but we had just a few small snow flakes in the air mid-afternoon- and now its snowing hard, a sign of things to come?
We are keeping a closer eye on the forecast than usual, as the bird ringing event on Sunday can't go ahead in very cold conditions. The licensed bird ringers and the BTO, who control the ringing across the UK, have strict criteria on temperatures and wind levels, so we are going to make a decision on Wednesday.
Plenty of bramblings under the feeders again today and a few redpolls were seen at the hide yesterday.
Stay safe and warm if you have to travel in coming days, but it can be a great time to have a walk if we do get a big drop of snow!
