A very happy New year to you!
My bird list has started well at The Lodge, with two male bramblings under the feeders, nuthatch, great-spotted woodpecker and all of the regular tits and finches in good numbers. On the journey in, I saw a little owl perched on an open branch on a regular tree along the Everton to Tempsford Road, and two Egyptian geese in fields near Little Barford. A lesser- spotted woodpecker would be the icing on the cake today!
It's a gorgeous New Year's day, with a light frost and bright sunshine, so perfect for getting out doors
