I am very lucky that where I live Marsh Harriers fly over quite regularly. Saw last evening. It soared overhead but never made a 'V'. Do Harriers do this? We had a Red Kite fly over last year. I wonder if this was not a Harrier at all, couldn't see its tale as it was too distant.
