Hi All,

Please find below a photograph of our recent sightings board containing a few of the recent highlights from Strumpshaw Fen and Buckenham Marshes. As you can see we are well into our winter sightings, but there is still plenty to see. The highlights have been a cattle egret, great egret, 49 marsh harriers coming into the roost, a hen harrier and the return of the grey geese to Buckenham, we are now just waiting to see if the taiga bean geese will return this year or not..

The trails are also looking quite wintery as the river has been flooding multiple times recently so I certainly recommend wellington boots to go around to Tower Hide and the Lackford Run, the woodland/riverbank/sandy wall loop is a lot less muddy so can be walked with walking boots. To help decide which path to take I have also included an image of the tide table, which has been adjusted to the correct time for Strumpshaw Fen, please remember that the tidal flooding is largely a result of factors such as wind and rain, so we can flood even if the tide looks low.
