Laura is back with another blog about how you can have fun while helping nature this year. This week she looks at how you can take actions for nature and how we can all help save RSPB Minsmere.
This year, perhaps more than ever, we realised how important our natural green spaces are to the wildlife that lives there and also to our own wellbeing. This has urged a lot of us into action. Whether we have bought a reusable water bottle or have rallied for change or something else entirely, the actions we take make an incredible difference. For inspiration or to see how hundreds of others have been joining in, head over to the #ActionsforNature webpage where you can also share your Actions with us.
Now here is something every single one of you can get involved with. RSPB Minsmere is just across the border in Suffolk and is a place I often visit. The Love Minsmere campaign was launched in 2019 to boost awareness of Minsmere, Sizewell C and why the reserve needs protection. On land directly next to Minsmere, energy company EDF plan to build Sizewell C, a development that will cause a great deal of issues to the habitats of Minsmere and the wildlife living in them. With over 6000 species, Minsmere is at the heart of nature conservation and is protected by numerous national and international nature conservation designations. The RSPB is campaigning hard to protect this amazing landscape, but we need your help too.
Tomorrow, the RSPB are joining Chris Packham and Megan McCubbin for a virtual get-together to discuss the incredible RSPB Minsmere and the issues it is currently facing. Tune in to learn a bit more about Minsmere, the issues that Sizewell C will bring and what you can do to make a difference.
