North Stack

Yesterday was like a summers day here on Anglesey. I decided to go over to South Stack with my scope and have a look at the Guillemot's. I counted about 1400 and two pairs of Razorbill. I also stocked up on fat balls, peanuts etc whilst i was there. When I arrived I dashed in with my camera went straight over to Jon the catering manager in order to brag about the male Sparrowhawk   that came and sat on the tray of my Niger seed feeder that morning. It stayed for about fifteen minutes. After taking a series of pictures I felt quite pleased with myself. The pictures are not great as they were taken through the kitchen window with a small compact camera however I was looking smug as I held the camera in front of Jon and turned it on to show him the pictures. My smugness faded quite quickly as the camera reported that there was no memory card in the camera.

I had left the card in my computer after downloading the pictures. Just one of those moments. However below is one of the shots that I took. The leaf that can be seen in the centre of the shot is one of the anti bird strike stickers.

Just another quick piece of information, I have an Apple iPad. Over the time that I have  been using it I have purchased several app's for touching up pictures. They are quite good and for a quick fix work very well. However Adobe have just this last week launched their own app called 'Photoshop Touch'. If you look for it on the App Store search under , 'Adobe Touch'. I have used Adobe Photoshop for some years and I never stop being impressed with it.

The new app works on the iPad and also on the Android Tablets. Last week I went to Burton Mere with the other volunteers (as you can see by reading the previous blog), below I have posted one of the pictures that I took together with the same image doctored in photoshop Touch, see what you think. The App is easy to use and it only takes a few clicks to enhance a shot. Have to go now, back soon. Mel.
