Kicking off the festival season is the eagerly anticipated Step Up Festival
It’s nearly the start of summer and that can only mean one thing – it’s festival season!
This brand new event taking place on Saturday 14 April in the heart of Essex will have live music, adult-friendly inflatables, food & drink and craft activities.
The ‘Step Up Fest’ is a great opportunity for everyone to have fun and step up for nature with all proceeds going to the RSPB.
The festival has been organised by four teenagers aiming to encourage other young people to do their bit for nature and support the RSPB’s Stepping Up for Nature campaign.
Jasmine Curran RSPB Youth Nature Officer said “The campaign is all about acting together and making a big difference for wildlife and the environment.” Jasmine who is one of the event organisers continued “If you fancy a family friendly day out or just a day enjoying live music with your mates, come down to Wat Tyler Country Park and step up for nature, there may even be a chance to gunge your friends!”
The live music will take place in an exclusive music tent creating an intimate atmosphere and possibly a few audience games!
There will be cakes and tea served by the local RSPB Phoenix group, a group of teenagers who are also stepping up for nature, as well as an ice cream van which will be serving throughout the day.
The inflatables are adult friendly, meaning that you can let your childish side out and have a go on our bouncy castle or challenge your friends to a duel on the gladiator inflatable or even the bouncy boxing.
There will also be a chance for younger children to get involved and be creative at the crafts table on site.
All profits will go to the RSPB, meaning that just by coming along to the festival you are supporting the Stepping Up For Nature Campaign. Step Up Festival will run from 12noon – 6pm on the 14 April 2012 at Wat Tyler Country Park. For more information call 01268 498620.
