The recent Bittern sightings have continued, with some excellent views from the hide overlooking Pitsea Scrape, including on one of our Thursday guided walks. If you’d like to join one of these walks, come along to the RSPB Visitor Centre in Wat Tyler Country Park, the walks start at 10:30am each Thursday and last for around two hours. They’re free, and are a great way to discover the wealth of wildlife found in the park. The Bittern has also been seen over on Vange Marsh, and has been seen travelling between the two areas, giving some great flight views.

Other highlights across the reserves include single Pintail on Vange Marsh and West Canvey Marshes, and sightings of Water Rail from the hide overlooking Pitsea Scrape and in the ditches over on Vange Marsh.
