A couple of these stunning black & white bees were spotted in our wildlife garden this week. Any help identifying them would be appreciated.

Thanks Soup Dragon! A great name for a great looking Bee.
Expert advice is that it is a male Melecta Albifrons. Apparently Melecta Luctuosa has been extinct in Britain for 70 years.
Difficult to identify from this page as no picture has appeared. If they are the ones I caught with Dave Gonning we think they are Melecta luctuosa.
