We've been busy lately making connections with the past and not just because some of our volunteers are of the mature variety!
We were approached firstly by the staff of the Manor House museum to help them create a wildlife experience around their grounds and we did that by installing a number of nest boxes for their garden birds as well as bat boxes for their resident creatures of the night!
Next we were asked to do something similar at The Oak House, another stunning piece of medieval architecture with such a wonderful setting both inside and out. We've installed a few more next boxes in their grounds and we've got our fingers crossed that these bird homes soon become occupied.
Many thanks to volunteers Tom & Jerry for doing all the work.
Both museums are surrounded by quiet and peaceful gardens which lend themselves to birdlife and it's worth spending a little while just sitting and watching the birds as they busy themselves at this time of the year. Get yourselves down there soon!
See you on the reserves,
Best regards,
Chris Edwards
