How's your day going?

I thought I would tell you some of the lovely wildlife we've seen recently...

 

Draper hide - teal, shoveler, shelduck, tufted duck, mallard, gadwall, Canada goose, mute swan, little  grebe, coot, moorhen, grey heron, black headed gull, lapwing, snipe, redshank, little ringed plover, green sandpiper, and common sandpiper.

 


Ashby hide -
cettis warbler, blackcap, chiffchaff, teal, shoveler, pochard, tufted duck, mallard, gadwall, coot, moorhen and grey heron.

 

 

 

Lagoons (Tern and Gadwall hides)  - watervole, tufted duck, shelduck, shoveler, pochard, gadwall, mallard, teal, moorhen, coot, grey heron, black headed gull, common gull, lesser black backed gull, cormorant, and buzzard.

 

 


Kingfisher hide -
kingfisher, kestrel, crow, blue tit, great tit, chaffinch, goldfinch, grey heron, teal, tufted duck, gadwall, coot, moorhen, and Canada goose. The kingfisher are incubating eggs at the moment! Woohoo!

 

 

 


Trails -
cettis warbler, willow warbler, blackcap, chiffchaff, white throat, bullfinch, chaffinch, green finch, robin, blackbird, dunnock, blue tit, great tit, wren, pheasant, buzzard, kestrel, swallow (first seen on 12 April, there was about 20 yesterday!), rabbit, fox and watervole.

 

 


Visitor centre - chiffchaff, blackcap, great tit, blue tit, chaffinch, goldfinch, greenfinch, robin, blackbird, dunnock, pheasant, great spotted woodpecker, rabbit, fox, sparrowhawk, mallard, and a little egret flew over.
