Hello All

Well first to say that the Tern and Gadwall hides are now open again. But also to inform you of some more closures. There will be no access beyond the Ashby Hide from Tuesday 19 January 2016.  This is to allow contractors access to the track in order to cut scrub (predominantly bramble) on the banks of the lagoon. For your safety it is vital that you and the machinery do not come in to contact, so we will be closing the path while they work. However as they move round the lagoon banks we will be able  to move the barrier down to open up more of the reserve.

It is important that we undertake this work to clear off the dense scrub the has formed allowing a wider variety of vegetation specifically tussocky grasses to grow providing optimal habitat for breeding wildfowl.

You will still be able to access the Lapwing, Draper and Ashby hides, as well as view the feeding area attracting 60+ flock of chaffinch and 3 brambling, amongst others.

We will keep you updated with information on closures and again once work is complete

We apologise for any inconvenience

Thank you

Vicky
