Hello All
The work clearing the scrub on the lagoon banks is going really well. We have had a 360 digger with flayel attachment working on the banks from the Ashby hide down to just before the turnstile, since Tuesday. Today however this machine has moved to an area off the visitor trails so we are able to open up the paths today, however there is still no access to the Tern and Gadwall as our volunteer work party are once again working on the wind damaged fence in this area.
The work on the banks from Ashby hide is not quite complete as we are waiting on the availability of a smaller machine that is able to climb the banks and clear the scrub from the top of the banks down to the water side. We are hoping this will be tomorrow, so the paths will once again be closed, but this is the last day of planned works so trails will hopefully be open as usual for the weekend, but we will keep you posted.
In other news 4 Brambling in a flock of 60+ chaffinch and a tree creeper this morning from the 5 bar gate just passed the Draper hide.
Thanks for your patience
vicky
