Hi All

Just a quick update to notify you of some habitat management we will be undertaking in February which will mean some access restrictions.

Contractors will be on site from Wednesday 8 February until 16 February carrying out scrub clearance works on the lagoon banks to create a more diverse sward and enhance wildfowl nesting opportunities. This will mean there will be no access beyond the Ashby hide on Wednesday 8th. By Thursday 9th we will have moved the barrier further along the track in line with the completed works so this will have opened up  a bit more of the site hopefully to the tern and gadwall hide but we will keep you posted on progress and confirm.  At most we will also have parts of the reserve closed on Friday 10th. For the following week work will be off public paths so there will be no access restrictions .

We will also have tree contractors on site 14, 15 and 16 February, again this will mean no access beyond the kingfisher hide on the 14 February.

We will monitor progress and keep you informed as works progress

Thank you for your understanding

Water pipit reported today at both Draper and Gadwall hides, bittern seen at Ashby hide over the weekend, also reports of bearded tit, brambling, water rail, green sandpiper, kingfisher and snipe.  So plenty to see

We hope to see you soon.
