Since the beginning of April the male and female kingfishers have been seen quite regularly!
They are still doing their thing - courting and investigating the bank. Last year the female got annoyed with the male (he didn't give her enough presents of fish, the kingfisher equivilant of flowers and chocolates) and she went off to find another male. This year the male seems to have learnt his lesson and has been spotted bringing her fish. Malcolm Housden, a visitor to the reserve took these amazing pictures of the pair on Thursday 8 April.

Its looking good for breeding kingfishers this year!
Many thanks to Malcolm Housden for letting us see his photographs. Thanks Lou for uploading! This is wonderful news. I saw both male and female KF on Monday 5th April, but not together.
This is super news. The photos have made my day!
