Happy New Year all from the whole team at Rye Meads!

To kick 2016 off in the manner we mean to go on, we are carrying out some vital conservation management work here this week. Trees are being removed and cut back around the Gadwall lagoon in order to protect and preserve our wonderful wetland habitat. This will however mean that there could be some disturbance to wildlife around this area, as well as no access to the Warbler hide for today and tomorrow. Thank you for your patience during this time.

In other news we are hosting the return of Tom Mason, local wildlife photographer, to entertain us on Saturday evening with a special one-off talk all about the wildlife of the local area, and some of the exciting photography projects he's been working on recently. Please do come down and join us, and enjoy a drink and a nibble while chatting to Tom about his kit and techniques.

See you all soon, and best wishes for the coming year!
