So it's still there, it's been moving around a bit - it started on the main path between the Ashby and Lagoon hides, then far end of the lagoon seen from the Tern hide, then across to near the Kingfisher hide, back to the main path and the latest report has been near the Kingfisher hide again!
The great grey shrike is the largest of the European shrikes. Small numbers come to the UK in autumn and spend the winter here. They eat beetles and other insects, small mammals and birds. Food is often stored in a 'larder' by impaling it on a thorn!
