Last weekend we had our Get ready for Big Garden Birdwatch event.

Over 100 people visited the reserve on Sunday and over 20 children took part in the Feed the Birds Trail, which taught them all about how birds feed and what they like to eat. Well done to all of you who completed the trail. All particpants also got to take home a garden survey to see if their own gardens are fit for birds. The children also made bird feeders with the help of our volunteer Keith and the children got to take the feeders home to hang in their gardens. In the classrooms our volunteer Karen helped the children make some brilliant birdy collages. Have a look at the pictures below. All the children got a fabulous goody bag stuffed full of things to make the Big Garden Birdwatch go with a tweet!!

Good news! The Feed the Birds trail will be running until February, so come along to the reserve and take part. Find out what birds like to eat and how to make your garden fit for birds. Everyone completing the trail gets a goody bag. Just ask the volunteers at the reception desk - and don't forget your goody pack when you leave!
