17 days until we kick off the 2016 season! With the early Easter we will be attempting to open on Good Friday, 25th March. I say 'attempting' as in previous years when Easter has been early the weather has usually thwarted us. However after yet another storm due tomorrow the forecast is more promising with high pressure set to dominate all next week. If this continues into the following week we will be all systems go. I just hope we don't use up all our luck next week!

In the meantime the cleaning and painting goes on for Lisa and myself, there are deliveries to arrange and lambing to prepare for. We took the boat out of the water yesterday given that force 10 NW winds are forecast for tomorrow but we hope to have it back in soon so we can crack on.
Today was the calm before the storm, a pleasant day, quite mild with occasional sunny spell after a damp start. We are still waiting for our first wheatear of the year but a black redstart was a new arrival and added a bit of colour to proceedings.
Resplendent in summer plumage the ledges were packed with guillemots today. At this time of year they make sporadic appearances usually during calm weather
The red deer are moulting at this time of year making them look a bit disheveled
