The very unsettled weather continues with Storm Frank battering us as I type. This morning was very different though, there was even a sunrise worth getting up for!

It seems we aren't done with seal pups yet either. A new one was born around 17th December and has done well, it should wean no problem . Porth Lleuog is seeing adult numbers build as they undergo their winter moult. The rough weather has made life difficult for them as staying dry has not been easy. Yesterday and again today there were over 120 seals hauled out

Dewi doesn't mind the weather though. After helping us split the rams from the ewes last week (their job hopefully done) he enjoyed himself on a rare day of sunshine

Fingers crossed there isn't too much storm damage when we get up in the morning. It sounds wild out there at the moment but the good old farmhouse is doing her job and keeping us safe and dry

Not too much to report bird wise - good chough numbers about (at least 15 today), peregrines, buzzards and the ever present ravens. Our garden regulars (blue tit, great tit, robin, blackbird and chaffinch) are keeping us busy with constant demands for the bird table to be topped up! Our chickens have gone on strike but to be honest, I can't blame them - so would I in this weather!
