In line with the latest Government advice, the RSPB has taken the difficult decision to close the shops, cafes and visitor centres across all our nature reserves.  We want to do everything we can to help people and communities in these difficult times, which is why we will keep our reserve trails and car parks open where possible, and are removing all entrance and car parking charges to enable free access.

However, the gathering of passengers before boarding and departing, plus during the crossing to Ramsey Island, represents an unacceptable risk for passengers, Thousand Island’s and RSPB staff.

Regrettably, we have taken the decision to close Ramsey Island to the public and volunteers until further notice.

Over the coming days and weeks, island staff will continue to share island wildlife through our blog and social media channels to keep you in contact with island life. Please keep in touch with them, it will be appreciated.

Our staff and volunteers will be continuing to work tirelessly to save nature, on our reserves, through conservation projects and campaigns.  More than ever, your support for nature is vital, and greatly appreciated.

We very much appreciate the ongoing support and understanding of our supporters/members during these challenging times.

We realise that many people would have been looking forward to their annual / first trip to the island and we will do our very best to keep you up to date with island life. Please stay tuned for regular updates
