It's been a busy couple of weeks as settled weather has meant a lot of outdoor jobs getting done and not much time for blog writing unfortunately! More to come on all that soon but in the meantime this is just a whistle stop update on some of the bird activity of late.

2 red kites have been seen most days since our return and yesterday they were joined by a 3rd. Young, non breeding birds have become a feature of spring on Ramsey in recent years

Chough numbers are good again at the moment. All 10 pairs from last year are defending their territories with quite a few nest building now (some don't need to do much if their nests are in good shape from last year and will just add a bit of wool lining). Up to 27 non breeders have been seen at times too.

Fulmar are largely ever present although have been away on foraging trips lasting several days at times. Guillemots and razorbill are sporadic at their colonies at present.

One of the more difficult species to photograph being the smallest bird in Britain at just 9cm, at least you don't mind only getting the back of their heads when goldcrests look this smart!

And its not been alll birds with good numbers of common dolphins seen around the island on occasion of late
