Due to a planning decision by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority the car park at St Justinians has been closed.
At present there is an hourly Park and Ride service from St Davids to St Justinians, provided by Pembrokeshire County Council. This will increase to two buses an hour in peak season.
Easter has demonstrated that the current shuttle bus provision with no car park at St Justinians is insufficient to deal with the volume of people who wish to visit this iconic stretch of the National Park. People come here to visit RSPB Ramsey, take a boat trip around the island, walk the coast path, kayak and visit the new RNLI station. Some simply wish to enjoy the view made instantly recognisable by the excellent promotion by Visit Wales. It is The Year of the Sea after all.
Already this has resulted in several days of severe disruption at St Justinians with cars parking on roadside verges and blocking private driveways.
In the short term we feel it is important to alleviate the problem for local residents, farmers and business owners at St Justinians and make life easier for those wishing to enjoy the island. To that end, an additional bus service will now be operated solely for those passengers booking on boat trips with Thousand Islands Expeditions and Voyages of Discovery
You can park your car in St Davids and catch the bus from Cross Square – we’ll also return you here after your trip. For full details please contact;
Please allow extra time for your trip and forgive us any initial teething problems as we attempt to find a workable solution.
