The biggest tides of the year are always around the spring or autumn equinox. This year March and April share that accolade. A few days ago we logged a high of 7.75m followed just 6 hours later by a low of 0.1m. The following photos show the contrast between high and low water in our harbour

The next two shows the Bitches at high and low tide

In fact it was so low we could probably have walked out on to the Bitches at low tide we with a bit of care

We would have tried it at low tide on Saturday but it coincided with kick off for a certain rugby match.....wish we'd spent the afternoon exploring the Bitches in hindsight!

The new RNLI boathouse at St Justinians is coming on nicely, with a planned completion date of September 2016. When Ramsey Sound looks like this it makes you appreciate having the crew on your doorstep

As promised the weather has settled down and we have enjoyed a few days of sunny, even warm at times, weather. We dropped the boat back in and got on with some chores. The first few migrants are trickling through now with a wheatear logged yesterday and the first few goldcrests of the year. It was a case of summer meets winter though with a redwing also being logged.

The last few days have been great for sunsets. The below was taken last night over the Bishops and Clerks (no filters used, that is exactly how it looked!)
